Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a tenure-track, assistant professor or tenured associate professor include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, engaging in scholarly research, grant writing and publications, supervising undergraduate and graduate student research, chairing and serving on master thesis committees, and serving on Department, College or University committees.
Qualifications
Required:
Applicants are required to 1) have a Ph.D. in Anthropology or Biological Anthropology from an accredited institution at time of application, 2) extensive research experience in forensic anthropology, 3) evidence of a strong commitment to scholarly research and publication, 4) experience supervising undergraduate and graduate student research, and 5) experience teaching courses in biological anthropology and forensic anthropology. For appointment at the Associate Professor rank, the applicant must meet the department and university requirements for Associate Professor at Texas State University-San Marcos.
Preferred:
Preference will be given to applicants with 1) demonstrated research and administrative experience at an outdoor human decomposition laboratory, 2) an active research program with demonstrated publications in forensic anthropology, and 3) a record of external research funding.
