Responsibilities
Tenure track Assistant Professor in the Nutrition and Foods Program in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Over 250 undergraduates major in one of four Nutrition and Foods tracks, including Nutrition and Foods (with a minor), Nutritional Science, Dietetics and Teacher Certification. The Didactic Program in Dietetics is accredited by the Commission for Dietetics Education (CADE). Graduate programs include a CADE accredited post-baccalaureate Dietetic Internship, and an MS in Human Nutrition with 2 tracks - Functional Foods and Nutritional Sciences.
Nine-month appointment with possible summer teaching. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; developing new courses to complement existing undergraduate and graduate nutrition and foods curricula; supervising thesis research and writing; engaging in an active, externally funded research program; participating in appropriate service activities.
Qualifications
Required:
Earned doctorate in nutrition, foods or a closely related field; evidence of research experience; ability to teach courses related to nutrition and foods; university teaching experience.
Preferred:
Undergraduate and/or graduate teaching experience; research interests in areas such as food related behavior/psychology, food anthropology, food culture, or clinical nutrition related to obesity and diabetes; peer-reviewed journal publications; grant writing experience; evidence of financial support for research; teaching and research awards; Registered Dietitian.
