Responsibilities
The newly established Electrical Engineering program in the Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University-San Marcos invites applications for a faculty position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level starting in Fall 2010. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong program of funded research within his or her specialty, produce a good record of scholarly publication, and exhibit a strong commitment to teaching and professional service. 

 

 

Qualifications
Required:
  • A doctorate in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline. 
  • An established program of funded research and/or development in communication systems and networking, or a related area of specialization.
  • A strong record of publication or recognized industry leadership, including: articles in refereed professional journals; contribution to major standards; creation & promotion of significant intellectual property.
  • Proven ability as an effective teacher. 
  • Good oral and written English language skills.
  • For appointment at the Professor rank, the applicant must meet the department and university requirements for Professor at Texas State University-San Marcos. These requirements include an internationally recognized research record, significant publications in refereed journals, and demonstrated excellence in teaching and service.
Preferred:
  • Industrial or commercialization experience, with emphasis on product or system development and delivery.
  • Ability to work across multiple specialties within Electrical Engineering.
  • Ability to play a significant role in the development and leadership of the Ingram School of Engineering
  • Willingness and desire to mentor junior faculty
