Responsibilities

The Department of Computer Information Systems & Quantitative Methods (CIS&QM) at Texas State University (www.txstate.edu) seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position beginning Fall 2010 to teach undergraduate introductory and intermediate business statistics as well as graduate business statistics and quantitative methods courses. Faculty are expected to conduct research in the areas of statistics, quantitative methods, decision sciences, data mining or related fields. Faculty are required to teach courses at the San Marcos campus and Round Rock Higher Education Center in North Austin.

Qualifications

Required:

Candidates appointed at the Assistant professor rank must have defended their dissertation by September 1, 2010 or received a PhD in Statistics, Management Science, Quantitative Methods or closely related discipline from an accredited university. Candidates with an earned PhD must also be “academically qualified” under AACSB standards as implemented by the McCoy College of Business.

Candidates for appointment at the Associate professor rank requires a PhD in Statistics, Management Science, Quantitative Methods or closely related discipline from an accredited university and be “academically qualified” under AACSB standards as implemented by the McCoy College of Business. In addition, a sustained record of discipline related publications in quality academic journals and demonstrated teaching and service accomplishments is required.

Preferred:

A PhD from an AACSB accredited Business School/College, teaching experience in an accredited business college at the university level, relevant industry experience, development and teaching of courses in distance education format, a secondary area in Operations Research, Operations Management, or Data Mining are all preferred qualifications.
