Responsibilities
To meet the needs of the new doctoral program, the Department of Criminal Justice seeks applicants for two tenure track positions at the Associate Professor or Professor rank (depending upon the qualifications) beginning in Fall, 2010. Responsibilities include engaging in research and scholarship appropriate to the position, teaching courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels (master’s and doctoral), oversight of graduate students research projects (theses and dissertations), and performance of both internal and external service.
Qualifications
Required:
- Earned doctorate in criminal justice or a related field. (Note: Holders of the J.D. will not be considered unless also holding an additional doctoral degree in criminal justice or a related field).
- A strong record of scholarship and publication.
- For an appointment at the Professor rank, the applicant must meet the department and university requirements for Professor at Texas State University-San Marcos.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated ability to effectively teach quantitative methods.
- Experience in supervising graduate students and related theses and/or doctoral dissertations.
- Research and/or professional experience working with government agencies.
- Record of external grant activity.
